Today I'm going to talk to you about ice. More specifically, skating (especially artistic) and ice hockey.
The country has numerous skating rinks. Indeed, there are ice rinks all over Slovakia. They can be found in town in the open air, on frozen lakes, in stadiums (classic ice rink) and in the middle of a shopping center. Precisely, with the ESN group of our school we went to ice skate in an ice rink in the middle of a shopping center. It was incredible. In addition, this sport allowed us to speak English and have fun with other Erasmus students. During this session, we progressed a lot, Adelin and I managed to make a jump. You can see on the video below, the incredible ease of Adelin.
Ice hockey is the most popular sport in Slovakia, almost a religion. There are more than 12,000 licensees. So we decided to go see a Bratislava hockey team game. However, this match was canceled, another big disappointment because of the COVID-19. The Slovak ice hockey team is recognized worldwide, it is one of the best team in the world. She is ranked 9th in the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) ranking. This team has an incredible regularity, it has 7 participation in the Olympic games.
