High Tatras of Slovakia

The first has chosen to know how to get to the High Tatras on the Slovak side, because it is very easy to get there by public transport. All mountain resorts are served by a small regional train from the town of Poprad
For our part, we chose to stay at Novy Smokovec. We wanted to be quiet, to be near a train station to be able to circulate easily and vary the hiking trails, and especially to have the hiking trails that go down to the bottom of our accommodation.
Stary Smokovec is the lowest resort in the High Tatras but it has the most famous ski slopes in Slovakia.
There are 600 km of hiking trails in the Slovak High Tatras, which is to say that even the biggest walkers among you will not have time to get bored during a stay on site.

The trails are all extremely well marked, modified to other countries in Eastern Europe. You just have to follow the arrows of the color corresponding to the chosen hike, and everything will be fine: it is practically impossible to get lost.
We were surprised during our first hike in the High Tatras: we had to seriously accelerate the pace on the return to avoid being trapped by the night

There are really lots of hikes to do there. Our only regret: not having stayed longer on site.
